The Bureau of Standards Jamaica (BSJ) and the International Code Council (ICC) will sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) which is geared towards the BSJ and ICC forging an alliance to ensure the development and publication of customized building codes, aligned to the Jamaican context. The MOU will also will establish a consortium of training institutions, coordinated by the BSJ, which will serve to build the knowledge and competence of practitioners in the industry. The signing will take place on Friday 13 October 2017, at the offices of the World Bank in Jamaica, Courtleigh Corporate Centre, 6 St. Lucia Avenue, Kingston 5 at 9:00am.
Supported and funded by the World Bank, under their Disaster Vulnerability Reduction Project (DVRP), this MOU will fall in line with the World Bank’s thrust towards assisting countries to reduce the impact of natural disasters on their infrastructure and economy.
