The Bureau of Standards Jamaica (BSJ), through its Regional and International Office (RIO), assists Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) with trade issues / information relating to the interpretation and implementation of standards, technical regulations and conformity assessment procedures for market access and development.

Facilitating trade and maintaining the competitiveness of Jamaica’s products and services are critical to the BSJ; therefore, RIO uses a holistic approach to support SMEs to build technical capacities; participate in international standardization; and use / implement global standards – all of which are precursor for companies to enter new markets and trade successfully.
