Introduction:
At the request of the Ministry of Housing, Urban Renewal, Environment and Climate Change (MHURECC) The BSJ was called to reconvene the Paints and Surface coatings Technical Committee to establish a lead in Paint Specification for Jamaica.
Scope of work:
The scope of the Paint and Surface Coatings Technical Committee entails:
a) Review and revise the existing Jamaican standards for
b) Developing/adopting/adapting relevant CARICOM Regional standards
c) Development of relevant Jamaican standards
d) Serve as a technical advice team for related standardization activities and other related matters, (e.g. from regional or international sources) specific to the sector, that may arise during the tenure of the committee.

The PSCTC has achieved the following: No achievements for this reconvened committee.
A DJSXX: 2021-limit lead content in paints would be their first achievement in the coming months.
