Standards for adoption as Jamaican standards

The BSJ announces the adoption of the following standards as Jamaican standards:

 

  1. ISO 4094:2005 Paper, board and pulps -- International calibration of testing apparatus -- Nomination and acceptance of standardizing and authorized laboratories

  2. ISO 7213:1981 Pulps -- Sampling for testing

  3. ISO/TR 10688:2015 Paper, board and pulps -- Basic terms and equations for optical properties

  4. ISO 23714:2014 Pulps -- Determination of water retention value (WRV)

  5. ISO/TR 24498:2006 Paper, board and pulps -- Estimation of uncertainty for test methods

  6. ASTM D4727/D4727M-17: Standard Specification for Corrugated and Solid Fiberboard Sheet Stock (Container Grade) and Cut Shapes

  7. ASTM D5118/D5118M-15: Standard Practice for Fabrication of Fiberboard Shipping Boxes

  8. ASTM D5168-12(2017): Standard Practice for Fabrication and Closure of Triple-Wall Corrugated Fiberboard Containers

  9. ASTM D5663-15: Standard Guide for Validating Recycled Content in Packaging Paper and Paperboard

  10. ASTM D5722-14: Standard Practice for Performing Accelerated Outdoor Weathering of Factory-Coated Embossed Hardboard Using Concentrated Natural Sunlight and a Soak-Freeze-Thaw Procedure

  11. ASTM D685-17: Standard Practice for Conditioning Paper and Paper Products for Testing

  12. ASTM D7030-04(2017): Standard Test Method for Short Term Creep Performance of Corrugated Fiberboard Containers Under Constant Load Using a Compression Test Machine

  13. ASTM D4991 Standard Test Method for Leakage Testing of Empty Rigid Containers by Vacuum Method

  14. ASTM D5276 Standard Test Method for Drop Test of Loaded Containers by Free Fall

  15. ASTM D3521 Standard Test Method for Surface Wax Coating On Corrugated Board

 

These standards were developed by the International Organization for Standardization and ASTM International. They were reviewed by stakeholders and are to be adopted after a one month period of non-objection.
